Silver Dollar Fair May 21-26, 2008
Since 1950 the Silver Dollar Fair has been growing strong! Did you know that the fair got its name because of a publicity campaign in 1950? "Old Hutch" Hutchison ordered 50,000 silver dollars from the U.S. mint to use for the fair's business transactions that year. The silver dollars started showing up all over town and Northern California. The Feather River Fish Hatchery has always been an interesting and educational attraction for tourists, as well as the Butte County community. Now, thanks to David Blakely and the California Department of Water Resources, you can take an online panoramic tour of the facility. Wonderful pictures and detailed information!
